Test and diagnostics

Autovet specializes in smog checks (both test-only and STAR-directed), as well as brake and lamp inspections on all types of vehicles from motorcycles to heavy-duty (over 10,000 lb.) trucks, foreign and domestic. The following list provides prices* for the most common services:

SMOG CHECK
  • Most cars from year 2000 and newer: $36.75 (+ $8.25 certificate fee)
  • Most cars from year 1996 to 1999: $46.75 (+ $8.25 certificate fee)
  • Most cars from year 1995 and older: $56.75 (+ $8.25 certificate fee)
  • Most diesel cars: $46.75 (+ $8.25 certificate fee)
  • All other cars: please call

BRAKE AND LAMP INSPECTION
  • Most cars, vans, small pickups and SUVs: $120 (including certificate fee)
  • Motorcycles with disk brakes: $120 (including certificate fee)
  • Motorcycles with drum brakes: please call
  • Light-duty trucks: $120 (including certificate fee)
  • Medium- and heavy-duty trucks: please call (by appointment only)
  • Brake special (pads only, no rotor resurfacing or replacement): $80 (+ cost of parts)

OTHER
  • A/C service: $40 (+ cost of freon)

REPAIRS

We offer full line of repair and services on foreign and domestic vehicles including:
  • A/C system services and repair
  • Smog related repairs
  • Brake repair and replacement (including ABS)
  • Air bag system diagnostics and repair
  • Electrical diagnostics including check engine lights
  • Lighting systems, headlamp dimming
  • Drive lines, engines
  • Tune ups and scheduled services (30/60/90K mile, etc)
